Senior living communities embracing gourmet dining

As more Baby Boomers move to senior communities all over the country and right here at the Beaches, the senior communities are changing to keep up with what Boomers want.

Atlantic Beach group forms

A new advocacy group formed in Atlantic Beach’s is focused on informing and promoting citizen participation in effecting change within the city. Susanne Barker of the Atlantic Beach Preservation group said the organization "hopes to be a Beaches Watch, but specifically for Atlantic Beach.

9/11 memorial service will be followed by food festival

Home tour to benefit Town Center area

The Beaches Town Center Agency (BTCA) is gearing up for its first ever Beaches Tour of Homes event on Saturday, Sept. 17, with proceeds to support the BTCA and its work to improve the Atlantic and Neptune Beach central business district and protect the unique character of the neighborhood.

K9s for Warriors will hold 9/11 service

K9s for Warriors will hold a short remembrance service on Sunday to honor the fallen of 9/11.  The service will be held Sept. 11 from 8:30 to 9 a.m. at Camp K9, located at 114 Camp K9 Road in Ponte Vedra.

USS New York crew plans 9/11 program

On Sunday, the crew of USS New York will hold a remembrance ceremony at Naval Station Mayport to mark the 15th anniversary of the attacks that took place on Sept. 11, 2001, and honor the dedication and duty for those that lost their lives in the aftermath of those attacks.

Auto Show is Sunday

The St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce will host the 14th annual Ponte Vedra Auto Show at Nocatee Town Center Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The show, which is free and open to spectators, will feature up to 175 classic and new collectors’ cars.

Bruval Jax beer fest celebrates craft beer movement

Bruval Jax, a one-day craft beer festival, will take place on Saturday, Sept. 10, from noon until 10 p.m. at the SeaWalk Pavilion, located at 1st Street North in Jacksonville Beach. The event will feature games, live music, food trucks, a beer garden, beer tasting and more.

Neptune Beach uncertain about full-time city clerk

With the recent termination of its city clerk, Neptune Beach will begin its search for her replacement, which will include discussions on whether the position should be full or part time, and who would supervise the position.
