Mayors announce completion of re-nourishment

Jacksonville Beach Mayor Lenny Curry joined Beaches mayors and representatives Jan. 30 in South Jacksonville Beach to announce the completion of the Beaches re-nourishment project.

'Mr. E' details growing up in a segregated Beaches community

Earnest Davis is considered an elder statesman in his Atlantic Beach neighborhood. The area was surrounded by woods when he first moved to the city from Jacksonville Beach. His house was the only one west of Mayport Road. Davis, known in the neighborhood as “Mr.

Rotary presents donation to BEAM

The Rotary Club of Oceanside-Jacksonville renewed its commitment to BEAM’s Single Parent Program with a $2,500 donation. The program is designed to “interrupt the cycle of poverty for local single mothers and their children.”

St. Johns County Thanksgiving holiday hours

All departments of the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners, St. Johns County Administrative offices and the Pet Center will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 22 and 23, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. St. Johns County libraries and bookmobiles will close at 6 p.m.

St. Johns County Hurricane Michael Update

The St. Johns County Emergency Operations Center is actively monitoring Hurricane Michael and will continue to do so throughout the duration of the storm.

Hearing set for Neptune Beach apartment project

Plans for the proposed development at 500 Atlantic will go before the Neptune Beach Community Development Board for a hearing on Wednesday, July 18. The special called meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the Fletcher High School Auditorium.
