Sandcastle Contest held

The 43rd Annual Sandcastle Contest, sponsored by The Beaches Leader and the Jacksonville Beach Recreation Department, was held Saturday, April 27. Participants created sand sculptures on the beach, competing to win trophies in each age group.

A Ponte Vedra Beach resident woke  to find a man in his home wearing a bandana on his face and armed with a knife and flashlight. When confronted in the master bedroom closet, the suspect demanded money and was given $50 from the homeowner’s wallet.
