SJC school district early registration opens March 1

The St. Johns County School District (SJCSD) will begin early registration for the 2021-22 school year March 1. This registration is only for children new to the school district, including those entering kindergarten. Early registration can be completed online at www.stjohns.k12.fl.

Jax Beach eyes improvements for Gonzalez Park

An audit conducted last year of Jacksonville Beach parks identified a critical need for improvements at Gonzalez Park.  Parks and Recreation Director Jason Phitides offered a “high-level snapshot” of the assessment during the Feb.

Jacksonville Beach reviews first year of consolidation with Jacksonville Fire and Rescue

No issues were reported in Jacksonville Beach during the first year of consolidation with Jacksonville Fire Rescue.  In November 2019, the city entered into a 20-year contract for fire and emergency services with the city of Jacksonville.

Bartram Trail Branch Library closing temporarily

The Bartram Trail Branch Library will be temporarily closed beginning March 8 for a roof replacement project. The project is scheduled to be complete in about seven weeks, and the facility is scheduled to reopen to the public in April.

Eagle Scout's project benefits BEAM food bank

Fourteen-year-old Ben Black has some advice for anyone who would like to help others but who have an idea beyond their strength.  Black is a freshman at Ponte Vedra High School who just potentially saved the Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry (BEAM) $10,000.
