Individuals needing hurricane relief assistance can register for FEMA Individual Assistance for Hurricane Nicole damages via phone and website until Feb. 13. Individuals can apply by visiting disasterassistance.gov, using the FEMA mobile app or calling 800-621-3362 between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.

Tour of Lee Kirkland Cemetery set for Feb. 12

The Beaches Museum invites you to learn more about African American history at the beaches with a walking tour of the Lee Kirkland Cemetery given by local history detective Johnny Woodhouse. The tour will be on Sunday, Feb. 12, at 1 p.m.

Neptune Beach Senior Activity Center reopens

Local seniors are able to enjoy some activity together at a temporary space in Neptune Beach. The Neptune Beach Senior Activity Center reopened in Jarboe Park while city staff finalizes work on its permanent Forest Avenue location.

GTM Research Reserve holding family seining

A guided family seining activity will be held Saturday, Feb. 11, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Guana Tolomato Matanzas Naitonal Estuarine Research Reserve. Pull a seine net in Guana Lake and collect fish, crabs and other marine life. Meet at the Guana Dam, 505 Guana River Road, Ponte Vedra Beach.

Atlantic Beach seeking candidate for city manager

Atlantic Beach officials are seeking a new candidate to replace the outgoing city manager. Shane Corbin recently announced his resignation effective Feb. 24, having accepted the role of director of development services for New Smyrna Beach.

AB Elementary joins city Arbor Day celebration

The city of Atlantic Beach celebrated Arbor Day Jan. 20 with Atlantic Beach Elementary School. Festivities began at the flag poles in front of the Public Safety Building, where Mayor Curtis Ford proclaimed the day as City of Atlantic Beach Arbor Day.

DONNA Marathon Weekend kicks off Friday

This weekend, thousands of runners, walkers and spectators will gather in Jacksonville Beach for the 16th Annual DONNA Marathon Weekend. The event kicks off with an expo, DONNA Dash and the 5K at TIAA Bank Field, culminating with the annual marathon and half-marathon at the Seawalk Pavilion.
