Beaches Museum announces Beach Legends for 2021

The Beaches Museum has announced the individuals selected to be recognized at its Beach Legends Gala set for Friday, Sept. 17, at the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse.

SJC asks beachgoers to protect sea turtles

The beaches of St. Johns County are home to several species of endangered or threatened sea turtles. Residents and visitors have a special opportunity and responsibility to protect these creatures and their vulnerable nesting sites as they return each season to nest along the beaches.

Jax Beach will honor fallen military heroes with memorial signs

Fallen military heroes will be honored through a memorial sign program in Jacksonville Beach. City officials Monday unanimously approved changes on the first reading of the Honorary Street Name Designation Policy to allow royal blue signs for military honorees.

Beaches Exchange Club names Students of the Year

At its April 23 meeting, the Beaches Exchange Club recognized and honored four local Students of the Year  with certificates and an unrestricted cash award. Representing Fletcher High School are seniors Alexandria Cordoba and Chandler Kirton.

BookMark hosting bestselling author

New York Times bestselling author Mary Kay Andrews  will be at The BookMark on Friday, May 14, at 6 p.m. to sign copies of her new book, "The Newcomer." Andrews is a former journalist for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and is well known for her beach reads.

ABET seeks new location

After three years in its current location, the All-Beaches Experimental Theatre must seek a new space to accommodate significant renovations to the former Kmart plaza in Neptune Beach.
