St. Johns County opened supply points of distribution (PODs) Saturday, Oct. 8, at the following locations:  • Pedro Menendez High School, 600 SR 206, St. Augustine; and • Nease High School, 10550 Ray Road, Ponte Vedra Beach.

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office has ordered the closing of the following County bridges:   • Vilano Bridge • Bridge of Lions • 312 Bridge • SR 206 Bridge • Shands Bridge   The Julington Creek and Matanzas bridges remain open at this time.

Hurricane Matthew approaching First Coast

Conditions continue to intensify as Hurricane Matthew is expected to reach Jacksonville. Though expected winds speeds have been reduced, the storm remains a catastrophic and life-threatening event. Storm surge represents the greatest threat to public safety.
