New city attorney chosen by Neptune Beach

Neptune Beach officials have selected new legal counsel to replace outgoing city attorney Zachary Roth. During a special City Council meeting held Aug. 21, Mayor Elaine Brown named Paul Waters of the Vose Law Firm as the choice for the position.

Ballot measures will be topics at Beaches Watch meeting

To help voters understand upcoming ballot measures, Beaches Watch will host a meeting Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 7 p.m. at the Beaches Branch Public Library, 600 Third Street, Neptune Beach. The meeting is open to the public.

St. Johns County offering free Labor Day weekend beach shuttles

St. Johns County, in partnership with the Tourist Development Council, will offer a free shuttle service to the St. Johns County Ocean and Fishing Pier and Mickler’s Landing Beachfront Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, through Monday, Sept. 2, weather permitting.

Neptune Beach denies proposed bed and breakfast

A bed and breakfast will not be allowed to operate in Neptune Beach. On Aug. 19, the City Council voted unanimously to deny the proposed development at 108 Orange St.

Plans for improvements to Penman Road are scaled down

A scaled-down concept plan for the proposed Penman Road improvements was presented last week in Jacksonville Beach. The revisions address some – but not all – of the concerns of residents and businesses along the corridor.
