Jacksonville Beach council balks at study

The Jacksonville Beach City Council voted 5-2 Feb. 1 not to spend $20,000 on a traffic study to determine if 1st Street should be made one way between Beach Boulevard and 6th Avenue North.

Peterbrooke opens new Ponte Vedra store

'By the Sea' open at Adele Grage Center

“By the Sea,” an exhibit of paintings by Neptune Beach artist Linda Olsen, is on exhibit during the month of February at the Adele Grage Cultural Center in Atlantic Beach. Olsen will conduct a live painting demonstration from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, during the North Beaches Art Walk.

Students of the Month named

The Exchange Club of Jacksonville Beaches selected Fletcher High seniors Olivia Martinez and Alec Adamec, and Ponte Vedra High seniors Jessica Goldman and William O’Hara, as its Students of the Month for February.

Boaters advised to use caution near Corps dredging work

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Jacksonville District is advising the public to use caution in the waterways at Mile Point on the St. Johns River as heavy construction is underway in the Chicopit Bay and Helen Cooper Floyd Park area near the Mayport Naval Station.
