Beaches police provided a snapshot of the highs and lows that have affected each department over the past year during the July Beaches Watch meeting.

Beaches Watch hosting candidate forum

Beaches Watch will host a virtual Neptune Beach primary candidate forum at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 30. The candidate forum will give voters the opportunity to learn about the candidates’ platforms and positions on Neptune Beach issues before the primary election.

VA supports Northeast Florida Virtual Veterans Experience Action Center

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced July 16 that Northeast Florida Community Veterans Engagement Board (NE-FL CVEB) will launch the first Virtual Veterans Experience Action Center (V-VEAC) July 29 through 31 to assist Veterans on VA benefits, healthcare and other services.

COVID testing site opens at Beaches

A new COVID testing site has been staged in the former Kmart shopping center in Neptune Beach.

Suspects in vehicle burglary sought

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance. These suspects were observed using credit cards stolen from an elderly man who was the victim of a vehicle burglary earlier that day in Jacksonville Beach.

St. Johns County approves CARES Act funding program

Phase I of a $46 million CARES Act funding program that focuses on small business recovery, resident assistance and non-profit organizations was approved July 14 by the St. Johns Board of County Commissioners.

Auto show set for Nov. 15

The 18th annual Ponte Vedra Auto Show, originally scheduled for Sept. 17, will be held Sunday, Nov. 15, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Nocatee Event Field, 245 Nocatee Center Way, Ponte Vedra Beach. The show will feature close to 200 cars in more than 25 categories. Email Justin@pvautoshow.

Hastings Branch Library open for curbside service only

The Hastings Branch Library is temporarily closed to walk-in patrons. Curbside service is available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Patrons can utilize curbside service by placing items on hold by calling a library or online at www.sjcpls.org.
