County may identify funds for traffic study of Ponte Vedra

The St. Johns County Board of Commission will decide next week whether it will approve a specific funding source for the required 50 percent match to the North Florida Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) to conduct a comprehensive traffic study for the Ponte Vedra and Palm Valley area.

Nease NJROTC cadet named St. Johns County Student of the Month

Nease High School Naval Junior ROTC Cadet Michaela Heinrich received the St Johns County School District’s top honor as the Character Counts Student of the Month on Feb. 18 during a ceremony at Beaver Toyota in St. Augustine that included a 30-minute live radio interview on WSOS 99.5 FM.

Sawgrass Village redo nearing completion

Construction at Sawgrass Village is in its final stages and expected to wrap up in time for The Players in May. Phase two of the redevelopment began construction in early 2015 with the demolition of several office buildings and site work enhancements on Village Main Street.

Rock and Worship Roadshow coming to Jacksonville

The 8th annual Rock & Worship Roadshow will be Thursday, March 17, at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. Scheduled to perform are Newsboys, Jeremy Camp and Mandisa, Phil Wickham, Family Force 5, and Audio Adrenaline. General admission is $10 at the door, with VIP tickets for $50 per person.

After running against and tying Vice Mayor Richard Arthur for the Neptune Beach City Council Seat 4 in 2014, Rory Diamond has announced he will seek Neptune Beach City Council Seat 3 during the 2016 election. Seat 3 is currently held by Kara Tucker, who has announced she will seek the mayor’s seat.
