Atlantic Beach defining rules for tennis instruction

Atlantic Beach officials are defining the rules for tennis instruction at city parks on and off the court. The City Commission recently gave preliminary approval to a set of regulations established to limit the city’s liability and create a system for fair play across the board.

St. Johns County Public Library System launches revamped bookmobile

The St. Johns County Public Library System (SJCPLS) recently announced the return of its bookmobile, which provides books and programs to regional areas of the community. The new bookmobile schedule, in effect until Aug. 26, includes: • Mondays: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

New public art installation planned for Jacksonville Beach

A new public art installation will serve as the visual gateway to the Jacksonville Beach pier. The city’s Public Art Advisory Committee (PAAC) recently discussed design concepts for the central location on the boardwalk in the Downtown Redevelopment district.

Offshore fishing seeing better action than inshore

It’s been another week of summer heat and, with it, some welcome rain along the First Coast. The fishing has been OK. We’re getting into the summer doldrums inshore, and we’ve definitely seen a pattern shift on the beach bite. Offshore, the action has been better, with consistent bottom fishing.

Jurassic Quest coming to Jacksonville
