The Palm Valley Academy Bobcats and Patriot Oaks Chargers slugged it out Sept. 16 when they faced off at Cornerstone Park, with the Bobcats (2-0) winning 36-26 against the Chargers (1-2).
With wet field conditions, the Bobcats kept the ball on the ground, which proved too much for the Chargers defense. In a tight game, the Bobcats split the load between their running backs. Landon Okla rushed 11 times for 255 yards and two touchdowns, while Robbie Grieco rushed 11 times  for 114 yards and three touchdowns.
The Chargers were up against a relentless defense and special teams unit unwilling to give up the lead. With 4:20 left in the first half, Noah Hodge recovered the kickoff for the Bobcats and then, with 46 seconds left in the half, the Bobcats recovered a Charger fumble.
The second half didn’t fare well for the Chargers against the Bobcats defense. On the Patriots’ first drive of the second half, Derek Hardie recovered a fumble and then, in the 4th quarter Andrew, Price had an interception.
