The Volunteer Life Saving Corps held its 89th annual Ocean Marathon July 30. Twenty-four swimmers participated and four records were set.
Cleve Cooney extended his record of wins to 13 and his oldest winning swimmer record to 55. Sean O’Brien broke his record of most marathons completed with his 47th swim and, at the age of 78, Tom Byerly broke his record as the oldest competitor.
