Sisters of the Sea to donate $7,000

Sisters of the Sea held The 21st Annual Sisters of the Sea Surf Classic presented by Eidon Surf and the Beaches Go Green Women’s PRO event Sept. 14 at the south side of the Jacksonville Beach Pier.
The weather cooperated after a brief early morning shower, and the sun shone brightly all day long for the numerous spectators and supporters. The contestants were grateful for the big surf even though it was extremely challenging; however, the smallest competitors showed the most bravery as their fears were overcome by their enthusiasm and their courage. It truly was a show of female empowerment and sisterhood throughout the day as fellow competitors gave each other the support to keep charging.
The raffle tent was full of items and many sponsors had tents on the beach with free giveaways of drinks, sunscreens, physical therapy massages and environmental education.
Sisters of the Sea will donate $7,000 to "Bosom Buddies" at the Women’s Center of Jacksonville from the proceeds. "Bosom Buddies" provides education to women at risk for breast cancer and support for women and families who are affected by breast cancer. SOS has donated over $110,000 to "Bosom Buddies" in the past 20 years.
