With a pair of runs in the top of the second inning and one more in the third, the visiting Ponte Vedra Sharks earned victory in April 1’s latest Battle of the Beaches against Fletcher High School, 3-1.
Although they loaded the bases with no outs in the home half of the fifth inning, Fletcher High’s bid for a comeback was stymied by a pair of strikeouts and a ground ball out.
