The Feb. 28 game at Ponte Vedra High School saw the undefeated Bucholtz Bobcats come into town. The Bobcats gave the Sharks all they could handle early on with their offense; however, the Sharks regrouped and their defensive plays held strong and kept Bucholtz off the scoreboard late in the game to secure the win of 18-12.
Saturday had the Lady Sharks traveling to Tampa to play in a double header. They began the day with a game against Plant High School. Ponte Vedra dominated from the outset with goals by Abbey Watson (5 goals), Megan Rolinson (2 goals) and six others, as the Lady Sharks rolled to a 14-3 victory.
For the later game, the Newsome team came in riding a 4-0 winning streak. The Wolves battled throughout the game, but key Ponte Vedra goals by Abbey Watson, Sami Lowinger and Megan Rolinson were the difference in the game. Ponte Vedra’s goalie Lexie de Rozire’s had 6 saves which helped lead to the 12-8 victory.
