Ocean County remembered

Bill Gulliford, outgoing Jacksonville City Councilman, long-time Rotarian and speaker at the Rotary Club of Jacksonville Oceanside's meeting, presented a vintage "Ocean County" T-shirt to Chris Hoffman, Rotarian and executive director of the Beaches Museum. The shirt will be placed in the museum's historic collection.
Ocean County was an early-'90s effort for the Beaches communities to form their own county.
Gulliford was the mayor of Atlantic Beach at the time. Gulliford said he plans to donate other Beaches history items to the museum as he wraps up his final term in the City Council.
