WITT, PAUL MARVIN

Paul Marvin Witt, 69, of Neptune Beach, succumbed to his long battle with cancer on March 17th 2016.
Paul was born on September 2nd 1946 in Charleston, West Virginia to Venis and Velma (Parkins) Witt. He graduated from Nitro High School in 1964 and from West Virginia State University in 1974. Paul served in the in US Navy on the USS Newport News (CA-148) during the Vietnam War, at which time he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star, a Meritorious Unit Citation, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and The National Defense Service Medal. Following his service in Vietnam, he married the former Stephanie Ellen O’Neill, an elementary school teacher, of Charleston, WV on June 11th 1975. Following their marriage, they relocated to Memphis, TN and then Neptune Beach, FL where Paul then worked as a sales representative for several First Coast companies until his retirement.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years, Stephanie, his only  son Justin Witt of Washington, DC and his five siblings; Shirley Hall (Kenneth) of Columbus, OH; Orville Witt of Poca, WV; Linda Gooch of Grove City, OH; Kendall Witt (Lenni) of Demascus, MD, Barbara Berry of Winter Park, FL and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Venis and Velma.
A visitation will be held at Beaches Chapel by Hardage-Giddens at 1701 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville Beach on Tuesday, April 5th from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.  Military funeral honors will take place at the Jacksonville National Cemetery on Wednesday, April 6th at 11:00 AM.
