Alma Mary Strickland, 84, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2016. Alma was born December 10, 1931 in Rich Fountain, Missouri and was the youngest of seven children born to parents Louis and Antonia Boehm. She enjoyed running her household as a stay-at-home mother and volunteering in her sons’ schools, church and scouting. She later worked at American Heritage Life Insurance as a bookkeeper for fifteen years. She enjoyed volunteering with Orange Park Hospital Auxiliary for several years following her retirement. Her sons and their families have always been a large part of her life.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Winferd Eugene Strickland; sons Win Strickland (Kim) and Gordon Strickland (Laura); grandchildren Jon Strickland, Kristi Strickland Graves (Ben), Aimee Strickland, Tyler Strickland and Katie Strickland; and one great-grandchild Elijah Byrd.
A funeral mass is scheduled for Friday, March 18 at 11:00am at St Catherine's Catholic Church in Orange Park Florida with a reception to immediately follow in Haut Hall. Interment will be at Jacksonville Memory Gardens in Orange Park Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mayo Clinic Foundation in her name.
