QUIGLEY, GEORGETTE M. (CUTTING)

Georgette M. Quigley (Cutting) 89, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on February 5, 2016.
Born March 19, 1926 in Bristol, PA, Georgette was the daughter of Oscar and Marguerite (Schuck) Biggs. Georgette graduated from Quinnipiac College in Connecticut with a degree in Accounting and English. She later received her MBA from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.  
Georgette resided at Pablo Towers in Jacksonville Beach, FL.  Prior to that she lived in Atlantic Beach for 16 years and before that she lived and worked in Connecticut and New York City.  She was a retired controller and after retirement she worked as a part-time accountant for Southern Service Corp in Macclenny.  
Georgette was a beloved member of Beaches Chapel Church in Neptune Beach. She was also a member of Toastmasters International since 1977 and for several years Georgette traveled 70 miles each way every Friday night to host a Toastmasters Club for the inmates at the Lawtey Correctional Facility in Lawtey, FL. In addition, she was a member of The Mayport Navy League since 1985 and volunteered at Beaks Bird Sanctuary for seven years. Georgette loved tennis and played with her team at Selva Marina Country Club for many years.  Although she was unable to play in her later years, she enthusiastically followed the sport on television. Over the last few years Georgette became a Senior Saint with “Seniors on a Mission” who provide a helping hand to area charities and ministries. And not allowing herself to slow down, Georgette also attended and graduated from the Jacksonville Beach Citizen Police Academy (JBCPA).
Georgette was preceded in death by her husband Robert J. Cutting, her son, Robert Quigley and five wonderful dog companions: Lincoln, Tristan, Thor, Bronte and Rascal.  
Surviving are two daughters: Kathleen M. Quigley of Portland, OR and Barbara N. Myers of San Francisco, CA. along with many dear friends.   
Services will be held at the Beaches Chapel, 610 Florida Blvd in Neptune Beach at 11:00 on February 10, 2016.
