.Walter C. Pilcher, 83, of Atlantic Beach passed away Friday, February 19th, 2016. He was born in Jacksonville, FL on April 19, 1932. Walter graduated from Andrew Jackson High School and attended Jones Business College. He was married to Joni Sims Pilcher on May 29, 1955. Walter retired from General Motors and was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps. He had a passion for fishing, gardening, cars, and most of all his family.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Joni; children, Mark (Trudy) Pilcher, Jan (Rick) Fowler, and Jerry (Debby) Pilcher; grandchildren, Jarrod Fowler, Jordan Fowler, Laban Pilcher, Isaac Pilcher, and Emily, Alex, and Reed Pilcher.
A celebration of Walter’s life will be held in the near future. Arrangements under the direction and care Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach.
