John R. “Jack” Murphy passed away January 12, 2016 in Jacksonville. Born in Rochester, NY on January, 23 1932, he followed a career in Broadcasting, mainly radio, in several New York cities. The morning radio show was his first love. He later went into management and ownership.
He is survived by his wife; Elaine; 3 children; Shannon (Robert) McElmurry; Sean (Amber) Murphy; Erin (Michael) Kane; 6 grandchildren Kylie Cogan, Nickolas Leonard, Elizabeth Leonard, Emma Kane, Julia Kane, Kallen Murphy. He was predeceased by his son Colin and brothers Thomas and James.
