BEATRICE “BETTY” MUSSER
In Loving Memory
Beatrice “Betty” Musser passed away on November 4, 2018, after a brave and intense battle with cancer. At her side were her daughters, Sherry Kiburz and Melissa Higgins, along with her beloved cat, Ozzy, at her feet. Betty was born to Joseph and Beatrice Yuhas in Bernardsville, New Jersey, on June 26, 1936. Joe and Bea were 1st and 2nd generation immigrants to the US from Hungary and Portugal. She is survived by her loving brother Donald Yuhas and his wife, Lucy. In the 1950's, Betty attended Drexel University before becoming a stewardess for the prestigious Transworld Airlines, TWA. She lived in New York City and was honored to be chosen as TWA's representative in Life Magazine's 1958 photograph “Beauties from 53 Airlines that Touch Down in the US”. In 1962, Betty moved to Atlantic Beach, Florida, where she resided for 56 years. In 1973, Betty graduated with a degree in Accounting as one of the 1st Graduating Class of the University of North Florida. She then began her 30-year lifelong career as a Corporate Auditor for the IRS. Betty shared her life and love with her devoted partner of 40 years, Terry Michna. Together, they enjoyed attending FSU football games, visiting wineries in Napa Valley and traveling throughout the US and Europe. They shared a wonderful life together. One of Betty's greatest gifts was her talent as a gourmet chef. She loved to entertain and bring her loved ones together in her home, especially at Christmas time. She was always ready to share her hospitality and home for any event. Her family was blessed by her ever present welcoming and generosity.
Betty lovingly leaves behind her son-in-law's, Michael Higgins and Stephen Kiburz, and grandchildren, Josh Higgins, Macy Higgins and Taylor Kiburz. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her so much.
