Ryan Murphy of Ponte Vedra Beach won the gold medal in Rio Aug. 8 in the 100-meter backstroke.
Murphy attended The Bolles School, but predicted his Olympic future as an 8-year-old at Ponte Vedra's Palmer Catholic Academy in a project he did for his class.
Murphy currently attends the University of Cal-Berkley.
