“Why don’t we go fishing?”
As far as I can remember, those words had never before passed the lips of the woman sitting across from me. She has said, on rare occasions, “Why don’t you go fishing?” but I don’t think she has ever said, “Why don’t we go fishing?” using the first-person plural to include herself.
