RUBY LEE MCGAHEE THOMPSON FARMER

Ruby Lee McGahee Thompson Farmer of Jacksonville Beach, Florida passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016. Mrs. Farmer was born in Wadley, Georgia on December 24, 1930 to her parents Julia and Jimmy McGahee. Mrs. Farmer grew up in Jacksonville Beach, Florida and was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church. She served in the capacity of president of the usher board #2 and a member of the choir. On July 29, 2000 Ruby's family and community celebrated 31 years of her service with the Duval County School system.
Mrs. Farmer is survived by her daughters Carolyn France and her husband Kelvin France, Catha Thompson, Jennie Weatherly, and Daraline Thompson. Grand children, Kelvin and Terrance, Taffy, Ruby, Ashaki, and Urasula, LaSheena and Jarvis. Brother Jimmy McGahee and his wife Katherine. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of loving supporting family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday, February 20, 2016 at First Missionary Baptist Church, 810 Third Avenue South, Jacksonville Florida 32250. Entombment will follow in Chapel Hills Memory Gardens.
