Womens Food Alliance names contest winners

The Womens Food Alliance has announced the winners of the 2nd Annual Kids Cupcake Contest, “Why I Like to Bake for My Family.”
The Grand Prize was awarded to 12-year-old Symphony Brown for her Triple Chocolate Cupcake. Bailey Dunn, 10, received the 1st Runner Up award for Dunn’s S’Mores Cupcake. Elizabeth Vincent, 11, won 2nd Runner Up for her Triple Lemonade Cupcake.
The contest was open to kids age 8 through 12, with 15 children advancing to the finals. Judges Nancy Slatsky (Pastry Chef at JAX Cooking Studio), Verousce McKibbin (Pastry Chef at Koek Cafe) and Nancy Guarnieri (Cook at St. Francis Inn) evalutated the entries based on appearance, creativity and taste. Each child submitted a recipe and an essay about why they love to bake.
The Grand Prize Winner received a family vacation at St. Francis Inn, brunch for four at Casa Marina, a Kilwins Ice Cream Social for 50 guests, and other prizes. Runners-up and other finalists received a variety of prizes including gift certificates, gift baskets, tickets to St. Augustine attractions and more.
