Volunteers needed at The PLAYERS senior center

A dining room ambassador is needed Thursdays from 2 to 3 p.m. at The PLAYERS Community Senior Center.
This role is for the "people-person," someone who is outgoing, friendly and a great listener. Some of the duties include refilling coffee and condiments; passing out supplies for activities; communicating information to speakers and new members; mingling with members; and gathering feedback.
The PLAYERS Community Senior Center kitchen is also seeking volunteers to assist with making lunches. Duties will include light prep, assembling salads and condiments, plating lunch, and wiping down counter tops and steam tables. Openings are available on Thursdays, 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., with those times being somewhat flexible.
The Council on Aging also needs a party event assistant. Party assistants will enhance parties by working directly with the coordinator. If you enjoy creating, crafts and Pinterest, this role could be for you. Create party platters from a Pinterest idea. Run errands to pick up items. Prepare party trays. Help with craft ideas and set up for the party. The party event assistant will serve 1 to 3 times a month at The PLAYERS Community Senior Center.
Volunteers are also needed throughout St. Johns County to preview home repairs in area seniors' homes. This service would be with Council On Aging’s care connection program to determine the manpower hours that will be needed. The schedule is flexible.
If interested in any of the volunteer opportunities, contact Amy Robinson, volunteer coordinator, at 904-209-3686 or arobinson@coasjc.org.
