The Volunteer Life Saving Corps (VLSC) has filed a lawsuit against the city of Jacksonville Beach for failing to comply with a 2016 agreement that defines the corps role on the city’s oceanfront. Volunteer lifeguards with the VLSC staffed the beach on Sundays and holidays while paid city employees with Ocean Rescue man the towers from Monday to Saturday.
