St. Johns County under tropical storm/storm surge watch

The National Hurricane Center issued a tropical storm watch and storm surge watch for St. Johns County on Monday, Nov. 7, in anticipation of Subtropical Storm Nicole. St. Johns County Emergency Management is monitoring the storm and will provide updates as they are made available.
Tropical Storm Watch
A tropical storm watch means tropical-storm-force weather conditions – including conditions in relation to wind, rain and surf – are possible within the advised area within the next 48 hours.
Storm Surge Watch
A storm surge watch is defined as the possibility of life-threatening inundation from rising water moving inland from the shoreline somewhere within the specified area, generally within 48 hours, in association with a tropical, subtropical or post-tropical cyclone.
