Strong to severe storms are possible for St. Johns County over the weekend.
St. Johns County Emergency Management encourages the public to stay informed through these options:

St. Johns County Emergency Management encourages the public to avoid coastal areas during this time as a matter of safety. Dangerous coastal and marine conditions will impact St. Johns County through Sunday, including:
• High rip current risk (extremely dangerous);
• High surf (6-10 feet);
• Minor tidal flooding (2 feet above normal conditions); and
• Significant beach erosion.
There is a potential for heavy rainfall (2-4 inches expected, potentially up to 6 inches) and severe thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday throughout St. Johns County. With severe thunderstorms comes the possibility of isolated tornadoes. The public is advised to use caution if driving is necessary and to avoid driving on flooded roads for any reason. Water on flooded roads is often deeper than it appears and can quickly lead to a vehicle being stuck or carried away.
Strong sustained winds of 25-35 mph and gusts of 40-50 mph are possible on Saturday and Sunday throughout St. Johns County. Now is the time to secure all loose outdoor items, such as trash cans, lawn furniture, and outdoor holiday decorations.
