Registration for Thanksgiving and Angel Tree assistance open

The Salvation Army is organizing its annual holiday meal for Thanksgiving and Angel Tree for Christmas. Registration for those interested in assistance is being held at The Salvation Army’s Tower Center of Hope at 900 W. Adams St., Jacksonville, through Oct. 29 between 9 a.m. and noon, and 1 and 3 p.m. For information about the events, email flajax.holiday@uss.salvationarmy.org.
All participants must have the following items to register:
• Picture ID for all adults in the household;
• Birth certificates or legal proof of custody for all children;
• Proof of residency (lease agreement, deed, mail with address, or mortgage statement); and
• Proof of income (pay stubs, TANF, SNAP, EBT  or child support).
Distribution day of the complete Thanksgiving meal takes place Nov. 21, and the Angel Tree distribution of gifts will be Dec. 13. Both distributions will take place at the former JCPenny location at Regency Square Mall, 9501 Arlington Expressway, Jacksonville. Residents of Duval County must meet the qualifications to participate.
