Two Jacksonville Beach lifeguards are part of an armada of international volunteers helping to rescue Syrian refugees off the coast of Greece. Vasili Pleqi and Nicki Emerson are currently taking part in rescue efforts near Lesvos, Greece, which has been described as “the epicenter for thousands of Syrian refugees seeking safety and shelter,” according to the International Surf Lifesaving…
