The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Paul Ignatius arrived at Naval Station Mayport July 31.
The ship, which was commissioned in Fort Lauderdale July 27, has a crew of 350 sailors.
The destroyer is the first warship named for Paul Ignatius, who served as secretary of the Navy under President Lyndon B. Johnson from 1967 to 1969.
