Jax Vets helps Purple Heart recipient

Jax Vets, a local organization, spearheaded an effort to assist multiple Purple Heart recipient Craig Dunning following an accident in which Dunning’s three-wheel bicycle was struck by a vehicle.

He was presented with a new recumbent bike at a March 14 event honoring him at Anthem Lakes a senior living community, where Dunning now lives. The bike was donated by Angel Bikes, an organization that provides free specialty bikes to disabled United States military veterans.

Anthem Lakes, Atlantic Beach Mayor Ellen Glasser, Atlantic Beach police officer Lenny Jevic and others assisted with the project.
