Fletcher High School has announced multiple cases of COVID-19 impacting the school community. Because of the number of cases (currently about 16 reported cases), the school is transitioning all students to online instruction through Duval HomeRoom beginning Thursday, Oct. 15, and will remain in online instruction at least through Monday, Oct. 19. On Monday, or earlier, the school will announce whether students and staff can return to campus, or if instruction will continue online.
In addition to classes going online, effective immediately, there will be no athletics or after school activities, including the JV football game and this week's varsity football game.
During this time, staff will thoroughly clean and disinfect the entire school. The school will also collaborate with the Department of Health to do contact tracing and determine how school will proceed after Monday.
The Department of Health will contact students and staff personally if there is a need for individuals to quarantine for a longer period.
