A newly-formed medical practice, Healing Breath Institute, blends the precision of modern medicine with the wisdom of ancient healing. Dr. Thomas Schneider, a pulmonologist and intensive care specialist at Baptist Medical Center Beaches, recently opened the healing center that advances the care of patients through individualized alternative medicine therapy. Schneider is triple board certified in internal medicine, critical care medicine and pulmonary medicine.
It was disappointment with certain aspects of conventional medicine that fueled Schneider’s interest in looking outside the box and into alternative medicine.
“I had patients with serious lung diseases and no treatment,” said Schneider. “When I realized that medicine did not have all the answers for these diseases, I decided to look for other options in alternative medicine. I sought out the most powerful and effective techniques I could find that were free of side effects.”
Schneider offers energy healing, ozone therapy, breathwork and EWOT (exercise with oxygen therapy).
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Schneider operated his own conventional medical practice there for 23 years. It was his desire to help people that led him to take courses in alternative medicine starting in the late 1990s. He was astounded by how much it helped people feel better when he did energy healing and how much more relief he could provide patients when adding alternative treatments to conventional medicine.
At Healing Breath Institute, the team believes in individualizing therapy as much as possible. Schneider is joined by Adriana Posada, a board-certified and licensed acupuncture physician, as well as Jason Wildermuth, a massage therapist offering therapeutic and deep tissue massage.
