The ocean breeze carried the notes of "Taps" through the sea oats as hands raised in salute of those who defended the country’s freedom. City officials welcomed veterans, their families and community members to the Oceanfront Park last Friday to honor Purple Heart recipients at the new site of the Veterans Memorial.
