Florida Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday upcoming

St. Johns County residents are encouraged to begin hurricane preparedness activities as hurricane season begins June 1. To assist residents in purchasing supplies for their hurricane preparedness kit and other preparedness items, the state of Florida has scheduled the 2020 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday for May 29 through June 4.
During this time, qualifying items such as flashlights, batteries, portable generators and bottled water can be purchased tax-free from any provider or store in Florida. The sales tax holiday does not apply to the rental or repair of any qualifying item.
