CITY OF NEPTUNE BEACH

Notice is hereby given that the Community Development Board for the City of Neptune Beach will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 116 First Street, Neptune Beach, Florida. The following items are on the agenda:

 

V20-01 Application for variance as outlined in Chapter 27, Article 8 of the Unified Land Development Code of Neptune Beach for Neptune Beach Fl Realty, LLC for the property known as 540-580 Atlantic Blvd (RE#172395-0130). This property is former Lucky’s Market in the Neptune Beach Plaza. The variance request is to provide relief from Note 6 of Table        27-229-1 to remove the 1000 linear foot requirement businesses that operate under common business ownership or management, share a warehouse or distribution facility, or otherwise operate as an associated, integrated or cooperative business shall not exceed a combined sixty thousand (60,000) square feet of total gross floor area in aggregate.

 

V20-02 Application for variance as outlined in Chapter 27, Article 8 of the Unified Land Development Code of Neptune Beach for Patrick and Amy O’Grady for the property known as 2132 Acacia Road (RE#173389-0000). The request is to vary section 27-238(2) Maximum Lot coverage for the construction of a swimming pool and decking.

 

V20-03 Application for variance as outlined in Chapter 27, Article 8 of the Unified Land Development Code of Neptune Beach for Melinda Monti for the property known as 109 North Street (RE#173131-0000). The request is to vary section Table-27-229-1 for the front and east side yard and increase the floor area ratio to construct a 2nd story deck, enclose the carport and 2nd floor porch for living space.

 

V20-04 Application for variance as outlined in Chapter 27, Article 8 of the Unified Land Development Code of Neptune Beach for Janice Gregory for the property known as 404 Sanibel Court (RE#172403-2280). The request is to vary section 27-328(a)(2) to construct a storage shed closer than 3 feet to the property line and less than 10 feet from the principle structure.

 

If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the Board with respect to any matter considered at such meeting or hearing the person will need a record of the proceedings and for such purpose may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.

ORDINANCE NO. 2020-03, SECOND READ AND PUBLIC HEARING. An Ordinance of the City of Neptune Beach, Florida, Amending Chapter 21, Taxation; Article VI, Additional Homestead Exemption; Amending Section 21-120, Additional Homestead Exemption; Increasing the Amount of the Additional Homestead Exemption; Providing an Effective Date.

 

ORDINANCE NO. 2020-04, SECOND READ AND PUBLIC HEARING. An Ordinance Creating a New Section 2-388 (Buy American Preference in Contracts for Goods and General Services), Chapter 2 (Administration), Article VI (Finance), Division 2 (Purchasing and Contracts), City of Neptune Beach Code of Ordinances, To Create a Preference for American-Made Goods and General Services in Contracts; Providing for Severability; Providing an Effective Date. 

 

The ordinances, in their entirety, may be inspected at the Office of the City Clerk during regular working hours.  All interested parties may appear at the meeting and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinances.

 

This Special City Council Meeting will be virtual/in-person hybrid. This meeting will be conducted as permitted in Governor Executive Order No. 20-69 and extended by Governor Executive Order 20-112. The City has adopted Emergency Rules Regarding to COVID-19 to Govern the Operation of Meetings of the City Council and Board of the City of Neptune Beach.
