    WILSON, NAN L.

Nan L. Wilson (formerly known as Nan L. Smith), 80, of Jacksonville Beach, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 16, 2016 after spending the previous evening with all 7 of her children. Nan was born and raised in Gastonia, NC and moved with her husband to Jacksonville Beach in 1963 where they raised their 7 children.
Nan will always be remembered for her great sense of humor and her quick wit, but mostly for her devotion to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several very close friends. We will all miss her smile, her jokes and the lively presence she brought to the many family gatherings, social events and functions she attended. You could always count on Nan to bring a sparkle to the room, not only in what she wore, but in the fun-loving nature and entertaining personality she was known for.
Nan was predeceased by her son, Michael; husband and father of her children, Robert E. “Pete” Smith; husband Donald Wilson; dear friend, Ray Simpson; her parents John J and Ethel G Leary, and her brother, John Leary of Memphis, TN. She is survived by her sister, Effie Williamson of Woodbine, GA; her brother, David Leary of Greensboro, NC;  7 children: Debbie (Toy) White, Robin (Darry) Smith, Greg (Susan) Smith, David Smith, Cynthia Smith, Christine Smith Fogle, and Peter (Paige) Smith; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
