Clyde Cleveland Summerville, age 64, of Flagler Beach, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 16, 2016. He was born in Laurens, South Carolina, December 14, 1951 to Robert Lee Summerville and Pauline Gwendolyn Tawes.
He is remembered by all for his passion and being the animated one in the family; when he was around there was never a dull moment. Clyde was an avid fisherman. He lived and loved the ocean. His biggest accomplishment was his daughter and his three grandchildren that he loved with all his heart.
He was raised in Jacksonville Beach, FL. Clyde attended Duncan U. Fletcher High School and then went on to attend Florida Junior College. He proudly served as a Merchant Marine-Quartermaster from September 1968 to August 1988.  He was a member of the Seafarers International Union of North America, AFL-CIO.
Clyde is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Summerville. Clyde is survived by his mother, Pauline Gwendolyn Summerville Tawes, daughter, Elicia Summerville, brothers; Robert Lee Summerville Jr. and Joel Baker, sisters; Melanie Garcia, Cathy Lord and Sandy Burney, grandchildren; Alexzander Summerville, Sebastian Kapici-Summerville and Sabriye Kapici-Summerville

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
