Michael Anthony Bondanza, 92, passed away April 17, 2016. He was born in Shrewsbury, MA, March 24, 1924 where he spent his childhood and early adult life. He moved to Jacksonville Beach in 1957 and resided there his whole life. Mike, never met a stranger. He was friendly to everyone, and his sense of humor always kept them laughing. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church. Mike was a WWII Veteran where he served in the US Army as a Combat Medic and was the recipient of the Purple Heart.  
Mike was known for his God given talent as an artist. You could see his artwork throughout the beaches over the years. He worked for an outdoor advertising company where he painted billboards along the highways in Jacksonville, winning awards for his paintings. One of his memorable art work was his yearly Christmas decorations that he would paint on storefronts for various businesses. You could also see his beautiful Nativity he painted displayed in front of his house every Christmas. 
After Mike retired, he loved being outdoors puttering around the yard, growing his vegetable garden and enjoying nature. He would sit on his swing in his back yard and would feed the squirrels every day. He had one favorite one he named Moochie. She would eat right out of his hands.  
Michael is survived by his wife Margaret, daughters Roseanne, Cheryl and their mother Rita, Michelle and son Michael (Nora), brother, Sonny, Grandchildren, Jennifer (Stannon), Justin and Micah, Rainey, Rockelle (Joe), Great Grandchildren, Anne Madison, Avery, Kole, Samuel, Ava and several Nieces and Nephews.  
A private Memorial Mass was celebrated on April 23, 2016 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church with Fr. Kelly as Celebrant.
