JOHN CARL PETTERSEN

John Carl Pettersen, 65, of Jacksonville Beach, FL sadly passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017. He was born on March 6, 1952 in Staten Island, NY. His parents Scott & June Pettersen Sr. (deceased) moved the family to Jacksonville Beach, FL in 1962. He lived in the Isle of Palms over the last 50 years and was known by everyone as “Johnny.” He retired from his business; John’s Carpet Service.
Johnny is survived by his brothers and sisters, Scott (Jan) Pettersen Jr.,Jim (Marie Miller) Pettersen, Lois (Donn) Holder and Carol (Joe) Durante; his nieces and nephew Jennifer (Jeremy) Vaughan, Abigail (Brian) Bodway, Rachael Campbell and Phillip Holder; great nieces Jalen and Sidney.
Johnny had a playful personality. He loved playing video games, riding motorcycles, boating and fishing. He spent a lot of time in the garden each spring and summer. Eating Oysters and attending family gatherings were always fun for Johnny and he will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held at the graveside in H. Warren Smith Cemetery on July 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL.
