DREW, JOHN ALLEN

John Allen Drew, 68, passed from this life, peacefully on June 28, 2016. He was born in Jacksonville (Mayport), Florida to John R. and Sarah Drew, who preceded him in passing, along with two brothers, Charles F. and W. Leighton. He had been a resident of Fort Myers nearly 40 years, moving from North Florida to pursue his love for the fishing industry.
John is survived by his cherished son, William (Bill) R. Drew and steadfast co-parent Luwanna Drew.
“No more watch to stand, old sailor. You are outward bound on an ebbing tide. Eight bells have rung, and the last watch is done. A new berth awaits you on the other side. May the wind be ever at your back. Fair weather and God speed Capt. John.”
Many thanks to the outpouring of love and support from friends and caregivers. Cremation was John’s request and a private farewell of  his ashes will be at a later date.
