Flora Taylor Crow, 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 1, 2016.
Flora was born in Puerto Limon, Costa Rica to Don Edmundo and Dona Francisca Taylor. She flourished in a large and loving family where education was paramount. She moved to Texas to attend college, but the outbreak of World War II made it necessary to move to the Los Angeles area, where she went to work with the Costa Rican Consulate. It was in California that she met a G.I., that did not impress her on their first date, but would later become her partner of more than sixty six years. Together they raised their family, worked hard to build a business, and later spoiling the grandsons she adored.
Growing up in one of the most beautiful countries in the world her love of nature brought her to the Ribualt Garden Club. This is where she, and the women, who would become some of her best friends, laughed with one another and learned about  plants and flowers as they nurtured and loved the spirit of creativity that they shared with each other.
Predeceased by her devoted husband Robert and her son John, Flora is survived by her daughter, Cynthia, son-in law Michael Silvis, grandsons, Andrew Corwin and Jodi, Michael Corwin, and most adorable great granddaughter Aubrey Corwin. She leaves behind her sisters, Luzhilda Taylor, Lissette Taylor, Connie Brenes Taylor, Sonia  Oller Taylor, brothers, Tomas Taylor , Edmond Taylor and many beloved nieces and nephews who will dearly miss their Tia Flory.
A special expression of thanks goes out to the women that made every day the best possible day it could be. Thank you Patty, Kelly, Holly, and Joy. Thank you Community Hospice for your care and support.
