Betty Faye Phillips McClure passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in Oregon surrounded by loved ones the morning of February 10, 2016.
She had open heart surgery November 2015 and was on dialysis. She fought hard to recover, but it was not meant to be.
Betty Faye was born in Jacksonville, November 4, 1942 to her proud, loving parents Bill and Virginia Phillips. She graduated from Fletcher in 1960 and married her husband, Don McClure on September 3rd of the same year. She always considered Jacksonville Beach her home. She loved long walks on the beach, reading, music and was blessed spending time with family, especially her Grandson Charlie. She was also a great listener.
Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend.
Betty worked for years as an accountant for a timber firm in Oregon until she retired. She was also very passionate about volunteering at White Bird, a suicide prevention center.
Her husband Don preceded her in death on July 10, 2015.
She is survived by her two sons Richard Lee and Gregory William McClure, grandson Charlie Dean McClure, sister Monya Phillips Sullivan and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Betty will be loved and missed by her family and friends always.
