Ocala National Forest

•Outdoor Outdoor Adventure Camp is being offered by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission at FWC's Ocala Conservation Center and Youth Camp in the Ocala National Forest. Six one-week sessions begin June 10 for boys and girls 9 to 14. Each week-long session is divided into three groups based on individual focus: wildlife and conservation, hunting and hunter safety, and advanced outdoor skills. Each session is limited to 115 campers per week. The cost is $295 by check, money order or credit card. The fee includes all meals, lodging, equipment and instructional materials. The FWC has operated this camp for more than 50 years on a 57-acre peninsula in the Ocala National Forest that is rich in history and wildlife on Lake Eaton. Facilities are rustic yet comfortable, with air-conditioned cabins and dining hall. There are three programs – Pioneers, Pathfinders and Expedition – all dedicated to teach campers about the great outdoors. Activities include fishing, canoeing, shooting and swimming. Registration can be accomplished by phone or by mail. For information or for registration materials, call 352-625-2804 or visit http://www.ocalaadventurecamp.com.
